Where do we start with the offerings of Europe? With the big wide world out there, it’s easy to overlook our own continent! Europe of course has the advantage that you don’t have to fly, travel across the channel by train or car opens up an exciting array of short trips and city breaks. Europe is steeped in history and has endless options for the culture vulture! Arts, architecture and archaeology are all around us, with the most popular destinations being Italy, Greece and Spain.  Ask me about the various ways of getting to some of our fascinating cities, the rail links of Europe are fantastic and you can let the train take the strain! In the spring, take an Easter break to the warm shores of the Mediterranean, cycle round the lanes of France, visit the bulb fields around Amsterdam or sun yourself on the Canary Islands!  In the summer the beaches of the Med are eternally popular but it’s a great time for walking holidays in the Alps or cycling around the Balkan and Caucasus countries too.  Gulet cruises along the coast around Croatia, Turkey or Greece are a great way to enjoy the water and the seafood cafes and harbours.

If you are planning for later in the year Festive markets flood the streets of many European cities in November – December and why not take a longer break and escape to Europe over Christmas and New Year? If you would like the freedom to wander round pretty chocolate box snowy villages and mountain towns or book a hire car, I can recommend some great options for you such as Slovakia, Austria or Germany.

Ancient remains of empires are found all around the Mediterranean, including the Middle East and North Africa, explore by boat as well as on land.  Museums, art galleries and musical tours all feature highly on the attractions of Europe. Ask me about the thousands of escorted tours to many cities of Europe some with a specific interest, such as archeology or opera.  Food and drink festivals and harvests are on offer all around Europe, ask me to time your trip to coincide with some of these localised events and tour the markets and restaurants of Europe for amazing local ingredients and tasty foods, following traditional recipes handed down through generations.

There is something for everyone in Europe – sun drenched tiny Islands, foodie festivals and fiestas, Alpine meadows in Spring or Alpine Skiing in the Winter! Natural History and wildlife holidays around Europe are most popular in the spring and autumn, particularly the many walking holidays on offer.  The best time for Spring flowers is of course April – June and particularly good options for the keen botanist include Madiera, Crete, Bulgaria or The Alps.

Adventure and activity holidays around Europe are really great value, ask me about joining a group or taking part in an adventure holiday specifically for families, take the children to do something different for their next school holiday break, don’t just go to a hotel with a kids club – get out and active and let them enjoy learning about local culture, new experiences such as kayaking, river tubing, mountain biking or swimming in waterfalls, there is a huge variety of children’s activities around Europe, so ask me for help with Family Holidays.  I can also offer school expedition holidays, many of these take place in Europe so ask me for details if your particular school is looking for some help in booking their next school expedition or adventure holiday.
