Alaska
Brown Bears, Whales, huge glaciers, pine forests and mountains! That’s what Alaska mean to me … a fabulous destination for a wildlife holiday with whales, seals, porpoises, bears and sea otters. Vast tundra landscapes and national parks to experience true wilderness regions, great walking trails and outdoor adventures.
Visit the vast expanse of peaks and glaciers in the Wrangell-St Elias Mountains and Denali National Park, go hiking around the highest peak in North America, Mt McKinley (6194m). Enjoy the marine life at Prince William Sound and amongst the fjords of Kenai N.P., or take a small float plane flight deep into the wilderness to see black and grizzly bears.
Alaska is a great place to see the Northern Lights, the best time to visit being between December and March, when the skies are at their darkest. In the winter, the frozen lands of Alaska are a real adventure playground!
A leisurely way to travel here is by ship, cruises often travel from Vancouver so you can combine Alaska easily with Canada.
