Jordan Family Holiday

This is a fabulous nine day family holiday to Jordan with the highlights being camping under the stars in the desert, exploring the ‘Lost City’ of Petra and floating in the Dead Sea!

Jordan is an ideal destination for families of all ages and a great option for half term holidays - either February or October due to the excellent weather at those times of year.  Spectacular scenery, treasures of archaeology and the Dead Sea and Red Sea – a fantastic holiday choice and the flight is not too long either.  Take your kids to follow in Indiana Jones’ footsteps!

Petra is one of the most amazing sites in the world, having been hidden for centuries and wasn’t ‘discovered’ until 1812 by a Swiss explorer when it became known to the western world. The desert around Wadi Rum is a stunning landscape and camping under the stars here is an experience not to be missed.  Soak yourself in the salty Dead Sea waters and explore the underwater world of fabulous corals in the Red Sea.

Flights are direct and transport is in air conditioned minibuses. There are 7 nights in 3 star hotels and 1 night basic camping (in the desert) with running water and a proper toilet.  The hotel at Aqaba has a pool and you can walk to beaches and souks from here.

Minimum age is 5 and the group size varies between 5 & 18 (all families) plus leader and local staff.

Summary Itinerary

Day 1   Fly to Amman and transfer to hotel.

Day 2   Drive to Dead Sea, explore Madaba and it’s mosaics and float in the salty waters of the Dead Sea.

Day 3   Visit the castle at Kerak along hte dramatic King’s Highway on the way to Petra.

Day 4    Full day exploring the ‘rose red city’ of Petra.

Day 5    Travel into the desert including a 4WD excursion.  Overnight in Wadi Rum in the desert under stars.

Day 6    Travel to Aquaba – free afternoon for snorkelling, swimming or relaxing.

Day 7    Full day in Aqaba at leisure.

Day 8    Return to Amman – afternoon tour to the Roman site of Jerash

Day 9    Fly back to London.
