

Marrakech Express
A fabulous journey by rail through France and Spain down to Morocco without the hasle of airports and flights! A two week rail holiday to enjoy some Spring or Autumn sunshine to North Africa. On the way you will see ancient mosques and minarets, souks, snake charmers and palaces!
Premier Class return on Eurostar London to Paris, first class rail, coach and ferry travel as below, 1 or 2 nights oernight on the sleeper service Paris to Madrid, there is an option to fly home from Marrakech, or take the return rail journey too, which stops in Seville.
Summary itinerary
Day 1 Depart St Pancras by Eurostar to Paris, cross Paris by coach and joing the overnight Francisco de Goya sleeper train to Madrid.
Day 2 Arriving in Madrid transfer to a hotel for 2 nights with sightseeing tours.
Day 3 At leisure in Madrid
Day 4 Travel south by train to Ronda in the heart of Andalucia and two nights in a hotel.
Day 5 Sightseeing tour in the morning, afternoon free.
Day 6 Travel to Tarifa and ferry across the Straits of Gibraltar to Tangier in North Africa. Lunch in a restaurant on the beach then train to Rabat. Two nights in a hotel.
Day 7 By coach to Casablanca and a city tour. Explore the old Medina and palaces.
Day 8 Train inland towards Atlas Mountains and the city of Marrakech for a 3 night stay in a hotel near the Djemaa El Fna Square.
Day 9 Tour of the city including minarets, souks and the medina.
Day 10 Excursion to beet the Berber people of the Ourika Valley in the Atlas Mountains and on to the baked clay and stone houses in the hills.
Day 11 Travel through remote regions, cities and rural landscapes to Fez. Hotel for three nights near the walls of the Medina. If returning by air you transfer today to Marrakech airport.
Day 12 Full day sightseeing in Fez including souks and spice markets.
Day 13 Visit the imperial city of Meknes and Volubilis.
Day 14 Depart Fez by train north back to Tangier and ferry to Tarifa. Transfer by coat to a hotel in Seville for two nights.
Day 15 Sightseeing tour in the morning and a free afternoon.
Day 16 Depart Seville by train to Madrid where you join the Francisco de Goya again, overnight sleeper back to Paris.
Day 17 Transfer to Eurostar and back to St Pancras in London.
There are cabin upgrades and single occupancy supplements and variations on the itinerary. Prices for March – April 2012 are from £1,998 per person for the return by air option or from £3,045 for the full tour by train and overland.
