Adventure holidays
Adventure …. everyone has their own idea of what that is! Any kind of travel can be an adventure, something out of the ordinary, maybe out of your comfort zone or it could just be something that you have always wanted to do. If you are looking for a last minute adventure holiday, check out the offers page for the latest updates.
Early years of exploration, discovery and expeditions around the world have created a whole wealth of opportunities for the modern day traveller. If you want to follow in the footsteps of early travellers ask me about polar expeditions, the Silk Road across Asia, trans-Australian train trips, how to cross the USA by rail or road, travel the Americas north to south or Africa from Cairo to Cape Town. Whatever you want to do, I can find a way for you to do it – challenge me to find you your particular adventure destination!
Long haul expeditions can still be taken, if you have up to a year to wander off, I can book you on an overland tour from London to Australia! If you prefer to fly, ask me about round the world air fares and stop offs for adventures along the way, hiking, cycling holidays, diving, mountain climbing, kayaking, riding elephants and camels, dodging traffic in a rickshaw or camping out under desert stars ….. you might want to incorporate some volunteer work in your long term adventures too. Travel broadens your mind and your horizons, when you adventure off the beaten track you meet people from all sorts of backgrounds – incorporate some culture into your adventure holiday. Stay in local villages in South East Asia, help with community projects in Africa, sleep in a Yurt in Mongolia, camp in the Australian outback and meet Aboriginal people, learn how to cook in an Italian farmhouse or Spanish hasienda, sleep under the stars with the Beduoin tribes of the Sahara … the list is endless!
South America offers plenty of adventure travel from the high Andes mountains and Atacama Desert through Chile, Bolivia and Peru with it’s ancient Inca civilisations which can be hiked and explored, to the tropical Amazon rainforests and pristine swamps and mountains of Venezuela and Guyana, teeming with wildlife and inhabited by little known tribes people. Across North America, adventure into the wilderness and explore the many national parks with stunning scenery and hiking trails or become a cowboy on a ranch in Montana or Wyoming and enjoy an adventure holiday in the saddle!
Africa oozes adventure! From sleeping out under desert stars to trekking the rainforests of Uganda and Rwanda to find the Mountain Gorilla, there are never ending thrills to be had. Climb Kilimanjaro and stand on the roof of Africa, paddle a canoe through Botswana‘s Okavango Delta or learn about the flora and fauna of Zambia‘s parks on a wonderful walking safari. Explore West Africa with it’s vibrant, colourful culture and music in Gambia or Senegal or experience world class diving in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Mozambique or Rodrigues.

With access now easy by rail or road as well as by air, explore the rivers and mountains of the heart of Europe, hiking or cycling along the Danube, the Rhine or through Bordeaux for leisurely sightseeing staying in local guest houses meetine people along the way, trek the Alps, Dolomites or Pyrenees or the desert landscapes of Capadocia in Turkey. The Greek islands, Cyprus, Sardinia and Corsica all have excellent walking holidays options as do those destinations along the Adriatic Sea such as Croatia or Albania. Kayaking, canyoning, abseiling or horse riding are all adventure options that are readily available around Europe.
Adventure travel often includes the wildlife and natural history of our planet, another of my specialist areas!
