City breaks
Make the most of being so close to Europe - there are fabulous cities just a short hop away from us, full of history, culture and sight seeing. Wining and dining is one of the main attractions with the superb culinary delights of top restaurants within easy reach. Whether you prefer museums and galleries, shopping malls, cafe culture, music or spas, there are cities to suit everyone.
Many cities can be reached by train so you don’t even have to fly or drive if you don’t want to and for a special treat try the Venice Simplon Orient Express! Explore European cities including Florence, Paris, Prague, Budapest or Brugges or what about a river cruise? A fabulous way to link cities is by river cruise, wind your way down the Rhine or the Danube for example, taking in the city sights along the way. Scandanavia has a host of fabulous cities to be explored including Oslo, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki. Head for Amsterdam to enjoy the network of canals, flower gardens, museums and plenty of cycling and clogs!
In the winter ask me about cosy, luxury hotels in the mountains of France, Switzerland or Italy for starters. Marvel at the sparkling lights of the mountain towns at night while you sip on your mulled wine and enjoy a pot of fondue next to a log fire. Christmas markets are great for retail therapy in November and December in destations such as Munich, Lille, Frankfurt or Copenhagen. There is a special offer of a free night and helicopter transfer for city breaks to Monaco this winter!
In Spain head for Barcelona for a vibrant mix of culture, culinary delights and the coast or inland to the capital Madrid with it’s low key cafe culture and sunny squares and gardens. South to Seville and a city break here involves a feast of tapas bars and sherry sellers!
Combine your city break with culture – there are fabulous concerts, festivals, ballets, theatres and food extravaganzas in every season, time your visit to coincide with a special event or sporting event. City breaks combine well with Grand Prix weekends, Beer festivals, Christmas markets or foodie fiestas to name a few!
Of course you could take your city break further away – long weekends in New York or Moscow are popular too. Or add on some city time to a long haul holiday, stop over cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai and Bangkok are all worth a look!
Ask me about last minute city breaks, there are great offers for 2 or 3 nights by rail or air to cities including Prague, Rome, Brussels, Venice and more - now that I have access to a new inhouse package system that offers great rates on all European city breaks, I can get you some fantastic value for money holidays.
