Cycling Holidays
One of the fastest growing types of holiday in the travel industry, with more people wanting to enjoy the open roads and trails of the world and leave the car behind, cycling holidays open up endless opportunities to get off the beaten track and exercise at the same time!
Around Europe, it’s easy to take your bikes on the ferry or train and enjoy plenty of gorgeous tracks and trails through food and wine centres, along rivers, follow Mediterranean coastal paths or the canals of Belgium and The Netherlands, the options are endless.
Further afield there is hardly a part of the world where you can’t cycle now. There are group cycling holidays to suit all ages and abilities, flying your own bike out with you or hiring bikes locally. Around Asia this is a great way to meet local people and get close to fantastic historical sites and wildlife. Even in Africa, you can get in the saddle and take a cycling safari instead of the jeep – try Malawi for some amazing cycling holidays. There are self-guided or guided cycle tours and road or mountain bike tours … gentle meanders or challenging expeditions.

In September 2012, I arranged for a cycle group from Bath to ride the Danube from it’s source through several countries to Budapest. It was a bit of a logistical challenge as well as a long ride for them! Here’s what they had to say about my services and they did meet their challenge target and it all went smoothly!
“I first contacted Julie when were only had the outline idea of cycling the Danube from its source in Donaueschingen to Budapest for charity. As the project took shape, Julie was endlessly patient as we changed the location of the stops, changed our group numbers and whether we would have a support vehicle throughout. Julie provided great advice and found the best local operator to make our booking and select the best flight arrangements and hotels. Everything on our trip worked out absolutely perfectly which is essential when you have a group of 11 cyclists covering long distances each day. The end price was within budget and Julie was very good at communication all of the details so that we could ensure all of the group were properly briefed. If we were to do another group trip we would certainly use Julie.
