Contact me, let me know the sort of holidays your family enjoy, when you want to go and let me do the searching for you. Whether you have one child or ten and if you are a parent, grandparent or a group of friends, I’ll find what you are looking for. When booking for school holiday travels flights book up (and are expensive) a long way in advance, so please don’t leave things until the last minute! Contact me now to book your family holidays for summer, October half term and Christmas 2013.
Take your children to experience new cultures and learn about history and exploration, wonder at wildlife and maybe learn local crafts and skills. Trek though mountain villages in Morocco, cycle in France, sail round Turkey, snorkel with turtles or dolphins, camp out in the desert, learn how to track with the Maasai in Kenya, have a go at Aboriginal painting in Australia, play cowboys and Indians in America or how about learning to make pizza in Italy? There is a wonderful family holiday walking with a donkey in Northern Spain. These are just a few suggestions – call me for a chat and let me find you the perfect family holiday.
Keep an eye on my special offers and specific school holiday ideas, such as for half term holidays and the Christmas and New Year winter holidays. Take your children to the amazing winter wonderland of Lapland to see Santa or ride a reindeer sleigh! Half term is a popular time for family skiing holidays or maybe you want some winter sun in February?
I often get asked when is the right age to take children on an African Safari or where is the best place to go for family friendly wildlife interaction. For very young children it’s best to stick to non-malarial areas of South Africa but from about age 8 upwards, there are specialist family safari options all over the continent. Zambia has some amazing family houses and specially adapted camps and some great options in South Luangwa for family safaris combining bush skills, local culture and wildlife. In Botswana there is a ‘Young Explorers’ club which teaches children how to fire a bow and arrow, fish from a dugout canoe and bake in a bush oven. Kenya has lots of family friendly camps and chances for your children to mix with the Maasai and learn bush craft and meet others their age.
Asia is great value for money and has something to interest families of all ages. Thailand and Malaysia offer fabulous beaches, tropical jungles combined with elephant treks, meeting Orang Utans or learning to cook local foods. Have a look at the fabulous Elephant Hills experience where you can wash and feed the animals. If you have 3 weeks or more, let me help you plan the trip of a lifetime ‘down under’. Australia offers a huge range of experiences for children from snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef to cooking on a billy can in the outback or cuddling a koala!
USA and Canada offer a huge number of options for active families. I can arrange a self drive if you want to hire a motorhome maybe tour around the parks and canyons of the ‘wild west’ or travel through California. Theme parks are always popular in Los Angeles and of course Florida, but if you want a large villa then book early as summer in particular in Florida is in demand. If you want something more adventurous and to escape the crowds of Disney then maybe consider a Ranch Holiday? There are loads of family friendly options throughout the States, White Stallion Ranch in Arizona is one option (which also combines well with a self drive around the Grand Canyon region). Camping adventures in the parks are also popular holidays and in Canada you can take your family to Niagara Falls or into the parks for outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking and camping.
Being independent, I can offer you a great range of activity and adventure holidays to suit all ages and family sizes. There are organised tours focused on families which help with the budget and let your children mix with others of a like minded background. Some tours are geared to teenagers, some to younger children and there are single parent departures too. If you prefer to do your own thing I can create a tailor made holiday just for your family.
Don’t get lost searching on the internet – call me today or fill out the enquiry form here and I’ll wave that magic wand to tailor the perfect family holiday!
Our holiday to Greece was perfect. The cottage was great, the resort was very child friendly. Not too expensive and really nice beach. Thanks for finding it for us! (stayed at Marguerita Cottage in Stoupa)
Holden Family – Greece Peloponnese (August 2013)
We are back ….. Jet lagged but in love with Phuket & Thailand. And very, very brown! Angsana Laguna was amazing …. Kids club amazing and beach so quiet we had it to ourselves, which was brilliant. The elephants rocked! (Elephant Hills) Lovely people, lovely food …. Fascinating culture. Monty now says two phrases with confidence in Thai and hopes to use them again in the future!. Fascinated me how many Asian women rushed to us on the beach to have a photo with my blonde children! What was great (and perhaps even better than the life long memories of meeting elephants, baby elephants and tigers up close) is the discovery that our family do enjoy just being on a beautiful beach together and for the first time, we enjoyed a relaxed pace and a true break. So refreshing and something which we didn’t realise we needed until we were given it!
Thanks for everything you did this time round Jules. We have been so fortunate to visit amazing places in the past – but this (and the consensus of all) was the holiday to top all holidays. I didn’t think anything would match Sydney and this did! Kindest regards from a tired but very happy Long family
Long family – Thailand (July 2013)
I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for organizing at late notice our holiday to Sweden. We had the most amazing time and got to see the Northern Lights on three nights, so we were really lucky. The trips were very well organized, the food was delicious and the people were charming. Ripan was a great place to stay too. Thanks again for making it all happen for us.
Furley-Strandburg Family – Sweden (January 2013)
After being completely fed up with writing letters of complaint to travel companies on returning from previous holidays, I contacted Jules for help and set her the challenge to find us a family holiday for October half term, somewhere in Asia. A stickler for detail and high standards, I was after luxury, comfort and culture. Fair to say we had an incredible 10 days in Thailand kicking off with an elephant safari and river rafting in the north of the country, heading south for a week of R&R in an amazing beach resort at Hua Hin. Our accommodation was superb and everything went to plan. So, no letter of complaint this time, just a wonderful holiday which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you Jules! Emma Lloyd
Lloyd Family – Thailand (October 2012)
The Elephant Hills experience was just AMAZING! We were truly in the jungle, the landscape was incredible and we had all the little luxuries we were used to, including a pool. In the middle of the jungle! We had plenty of time with the elephants and in fact got to feed and wash them on our own, as no other guests had arrived at the same time as we did. The canoe trip on the river was great fun, the guides even helped us to have a canoe race, which cost Jonathan 100 baht as his team lost! We didn’t see much wildlife (probably because we were too noisy) but both Jonathan and the girls had a go at swinging from a rope over the river and falling in when we stopped for a mid-jungle cup of tea! And then we went to the lake and the floating tents – surreal. The landscape was almost prehistoric. Not another soul around. Just limestone cliffs covered with jungle and lots of lovely deep warm water to swim in. Which we did. The girls loved it. We went kayaking one evening when it went a little cooler and saw giant water snails, monkeys and an eagle. We got to ride a long tail boat, went on a jungle safari (I’ve never been so hot!) and enjoyed the company of another family from Denmark. We were very well looked after and enjoyed great food, including vegetarian food, prepared specially for us.
Then we went to the beach and the Angsana Laguna hotel near Phuket. What a place! Total luxury and great facilities. The girls went the the kids club almost every day because they loved it so much. We did so much while we were there – Thai massage, had some clothes made up, Jonathan went to watch Thai boxing, snorkelling, lots of chilling in the pools, sitting on the beach watching the sun go down whilst sipping cocktails. Really, we couldn’t have asked for more.
So a huge thank you to you for putting it all together and making it happen. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for – and it was done in style. It was the unforgettable family experience it was always meant to be. Our only problem now is what to do next time, as I can’t image we could top this. Still, you never know and I will certainly be contacting you If we are ever in a position to undertake another great adventure.
Keep up the excellent work. Very warm wishes Philippa, Jonathan, Leonie and Maddy xx
Holland Family – Thailand (August 2012)
Our holiday to Egypt was great! The Stella di Mare Beach Hotel was lovely and we had an fabulous time. I got my Open Water and the children their Advanced Open Water ….. the instructors at Desert Rose were brilliant …. Especially Hazem and Akhmed. We even went for a Night Dive which was amazing. I definitely made the right decision going B&B instead of all inclusive. We ate most nights at the Asian restaurant which was perfect for us. I’m not a fan of the whole mass catering / buffet thing. The Classic Collection transfers all went smoothly. We would definitely return to Sharm, thank you for organising it.
