Cruises and Sailing Holidays
For many people, being near water is a key requirement for a good relaxing holiday – beach holidays are always popular! But if you want to spend your time actually ON the water, there are plenty of different options. The ultimate on many people’s bucket list is the Round the World cruise.
Houseboats in places such as Africa or India are a great way to enjoy your surroundings and in South Africa and Botswana fishing from houseboats is a popular holiday. Sailing boats take on a huge range of size and type, from traditional Greek ‘Caiques’ or ‘Gulets’ in Turkey to large sail driven yachts in the Galapagos and luxury catamarans around the Indian Ocean.
Expedition cruise ships and ice-breakers will take you around polar waters and large ocean going liners will transport you around the world. If water sports and activities such as wind surfing, boogie boarding, hobie cats and sea kayaks are your thing, take a look at the adventure holidays available.
Cruises on large ships are popular around the world with some vessels catering for hundreds of passengers at a time. Smaller cruises stopping for land based sight seeing around Europe offer a variety of options as do River Cruises. Hopping on and off at towns and cities along the Rhine, Danube or Rhone are just some of the wonderful experiences to be had in Europe. Nile Cruises are a great way to see the historical sights of Egypt.
The fjords of Scandanavia and Alaska are great places to enjoy watery scenery and cruises along the coast of North America often see whales and dolphins. Around the Caribbean you can cruise to lots of different islands, experiencing swimming and snorkelling in turquoise waters and stopping to explore the culture of the West Indies. Nearer home why not join a cruise around the British Isles and explore the coastal towns along the way?
If you would like to charter a private yacht around the Caribbean or Indian Ocean (or anywhere else in the world!) please contact me with your requirements and I can tailor the yacht to suit.
